I love babies… Meet little tiny Gage!

I do love babies of all species. Babies are so small and innocent. They just so soft and sweet. It is very cool to photograph these little tiny people. I recently met a very cute couple, Meg and Tim who were expecting their first baby, so we did a maternity shoot. They were both so fun to work with. I was very pleased when this little tiny person named Gage showed up at the studio. He was unhappy with the evening and wanted to tell us about it. As the evening went on, I kept little Gage really warm to make sure he kept sleeping so I could photograph him. It was fun to hold such a little person. My little people are not very small anymore. It makes me so happy when people bring their babies in for newborn photos because they are never this small again. The best part is that they always stay that small in the photograph. I get to enjoy the babies without going through all the fuss to have another baby. They are a lot of work, even though my girlfriend makes it look easy with her five kidlets. Two is a good ratio for me.

Modeling Shoot on Location

I love when I get a shot of myself shooting!

I hear all the time that different young girls and ladies alike who are interested in modeling. There are many salons around that do look for hair models. My favorite of course is our girl Katrina Bergsma at VK Salon . She does quite a bit of model shoots. She does the hair and make-up while I take the photos. Although, Kat has been getting herself behind that camera a lot more these days honing her skills in photography. She did all mine for my most recent project and I love them.

Check out Erin Stewart, who worked with us on a shoot. I have been wanting to hit up this location, but did not seem to ever get there for a shoot. Please go onto the blog and leave a comment with your thoughts. We love to hear what people think of our work! Cheers, Cassandra

Valentino Sessions are back! This is a fun photo shoot for couples. In true Valentines Day style we will have chocolate, candlelight, sweet music and romance baby. We will photograph you as a couple and have fun individually too. These are great photos to remind us why we are together with our mates. We must always have romance. January 2012 is HERE! Some Celebrations are in order!

This Year started off with a bang! Quite a good one on New Years Eve with many friends. A wonderful Christmas with family. Then to learn that just before new years, the world lost two wonderful ladies who on a wonderful journey when it all came to an end. One moment enjoying life and the next slippery roads and a freight truck out of control ended it all. Each of these women both a huge impact on my life in my first year teaching and touched many lives of the students they taught. They will be sadly missed and fondly thought of. My heart goes out to their families. Then I hear that a woman I know has lost her cousin’s husband and two nephews in a fire. No child should ever be taken so early in life. More heart ache that is difficult to understand.

I do believe that more then ever we need to not let moments pass us by. We never really know what is going to happen next. We can not control the actions of others, nor can we fear that things like this happen. I am trying my best to put my best self forward for the year of 2012. To do everything I always say I am going to do. To play with the kids and be silly. Enjoy every moment like it is the last. That sounds a bit sad when I say it like that, but I just don’t want to say I wish I did that.

So, to make sure that everyone is sure they have great prints of their family, themselves, their friends, etc… I have decided that2 for 1 Portrait Print Sale! That is right, for all of January we will have all of our studio prints 2 for 1. Welcome to 2012! If you have had a session in 2011, call to book your ordering session. Green Christmas

There is something to be said about enjoying an experience with family and friends.
I have been busy making all kinds of gifts this year. Creating photo gifts the I put in lots of love. The thought that the secondhand store had too much stuff that they were not accepting donations. That is crazy.

So, I have had to buy supplies to make my gifts, but I am trying my best to create gifts that are from the heart. From handmade flower headbands to clay ornaments my kids and I have been keeping busy. We are going to need to do some baking here pretty quick with the end of school being this next week!

If you are not a crafty person, that is ok! Buy an experience for someone. Makes the best gift that comes with fun, and something to remember it by. We sell gift certificates! If you don’t know what to get someone. Let them decide of purchase a package for them. Very low carbon foot print. Our prints and products are archival and they are something that you are going to hold on to and enjoy!

Some ideas would be….

Family portrait session… Ask your brothers and sisters to go together and buy a family gift. Wouldn’t grandma love that. And with my sessions we do each of the family units, as well as the the whole group. Individuals, couples, etc..
That way each of you can get what you want for your family also.

Valentino… For that special someone, a Valentino session is so much fun. It is an intimate in studio session experience that we are booking for Valentines Day week. What a great way to tell someone you love them. Includes low light, music, chocolate and beautiful images. Themes available upon request.

Forever 17 Sessions Our teen sessions are a blast. They can be from grade 10-12! These focus on grad sessions, but we love to do modelling sessions for teens too. Group shoots available with friends.

Baby Baby Sessions start at Maternity Belly sessions, Birth Session, Sweet Newborn Sessions, Babies First Year, and Baby Cake smashing!
